Maaida Noor; born 1985 in Pakistan. She has a BFA from Punjab University College of Art and Design. Her studies include Calligraphy, Islamic Art, Graphic Design and Fine Arts. Maaida Noor has worked in many different art forms; such as painting in oil, acrylic, watercolour, book illustrations, fine pencil work, portraits, glass paints and photography. Maaida Noor has continued her to focus her work on calligraphy, taking her inspiration from the aesthetics and deeper meanings within Islamic Art. In particular, Maaida Noor looks to the artistry of calligraphy as one of the main mediums of the religious expression of the message of Allah. This inspiration stems from her interest in the rich heritage of Islamic calligraphy, which has the power to symbolise the beauty and power of Islam, and is also a reflection of the cultural values of the Muslim World.
